Working together to deliver 4G access to the mobile Internet

Demand for mobile broadband

The thirst for mobile broadband, driven by dramatic increases in the sales of smartphones and USB devices, is placing an unprecedented demand for data on existing networks that were primarily designed to deliver voice services. This demand is likely to continue for many years: Ofcom recently stated that the adoption in the UK of wireless data services is the fastest growing new technology adoption trend ever seen in the UK. It estimates that demand for mobile wireless data of all kinds for business, private and public sector use will increase by more than 10 times in the next few years having grown nearly 40% in 2009 alone.
